Trump and Aliens

President Donald Trump announced yesterday that he is instructing the Pentagon and other government agencies to identify and declassify files related to aliens and UFOs due to the “enormous interest” in society.

Trump made this statement on social media a few hours after accusing former President Barack Obama of disclosing classified information. On Sunday, Obama stated in an interview that aliens exist, although he noted that he hasn’t seen them himself. He later clarified that he hasn’t seen evidence of aliens “making contact with us,” adding: “Statistically, the universe is so vast that the likelihood of life existing there is high.”

On Thursday, Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One: “I don’t know if they exist or not. I have no opinion on it. I never talk about it. Many people do. Many people believe in it.”

There’s no real sensation here, but what’s much more interesting is what he added about Obama: “Maybe I’ll get him out of trouble by declassifying documents.”

Later in a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that he is instructing the Pentagon and other government agencies to publish files “regarding extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena, and unidentified flying objects, as well as any other information related to these extremely complex but extremely interesting and important issues.”

Apparently, Trump was annoyed by Obama’s unexpected intervention in a topic he considered his exclusive prerogative, and by the fact that the ex-president tried to steal the sensation from him. Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, one of the most influential people in his team, hinted this week that he is ready to speak on this topic, stating in a podcast that the president has a prepared speech about aliens, which he will deliver “at the right time.” Earlier, there were suggestions that Trump was going to make a sensational statement about extraterrestrial life at the final of the World Cup in New York on July 19.
