Harris’ Wishy-Washy Position on Israel

The Israeli factor in American politics is becoming one of the most important — along with abortion and the economy — for the November elections.

Trump blames the Biden-Harris administration for Israel’s war against Hamas and Hezbollah, claiming that their policies have strengthened Iran.

Harris failed to formulate a clear and concise position on the issue of attitude towards Israel in her interview on CBS’s “60 Minutes” on Sunday, angering many Republicans. When asked by the host whether the US has any influence over Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, she delivered a portion of her signature word salad, from which almost nothing was understood. “Someone please decipher what she just said…”, wrote one commentator.

And when asked whether the US has a real close ally in the person of Prime Minister Netanyahu, she refused to answer at all. “I think, with all due respect, the better question is, do we have a meaningful alliance between the American people and the Israeli people, and the answer is yes,” Kamala tried to wriggle out of it, provoking even more outrage.

“Israel is destroying Iranian-backed terrorists across the Middle East, making the world a safer place for Israel and the United States, but Kamala Harris refuses to say that Prime Minister Netanyahu is a strong ally for America. Kamala Harris is unfit to be President of the United States,” said New York Congresswoman Elise Stefanik.

“This is the real Kamala. And she is no friend of Israel,” wrote California Congressman Darrell Issa. Twenty years ago, such a disagreement over support for a key U.S. ally in the Middle East would have ensured a victory for the pro-Israel candidate and a defeat for his rival.

But now everything is different: the media serving the interests of the Democratic Party (and there is an overwhelming majority of them in the US) pretend not to notice Harris’s slippery and ambiguous position, but continue to chew over “Trump’s connections with people spewing anti-Semitic rhetoric, such as far-right activist Nick Fuentes and Kanye West.” And there is little doubt that the Jews of America, who believed the leftist slogans “Trump is the “new Hitler”, will vote for Harris, contrary to Israel’s national interests.

“I have done more for Israel than anyone. I have done more for the Jewish people than anyone. But it’s, as they say, unrequited love,” Trump said Monday in an interview with host Hugh Hewitt. Trump has repeatedly said that Jewish voters who vote for Democrats “need to get their heads examined,” and recently reiterated that if he loses the presidential election to Harris on Nov. 5, “the Jewish people are really going to have a lot to do with it.”
