The Russian military special operation is one of the most discussed topics in the world media. The attitude to what is happening in Ukraine back in 2014 split the world into “before” and “after”, and eventually led to the current world confrontation and direct conflict between Russia and Ukraine in February 2022.

Russia found itself in a difficult situation, which polarized its society, and forced a change in attitude within the country towards many things that until recently seemed to be the norm or an acceptable compromise. These events awakened patriotic consciousness and became the basis for the formation of new social processes.

Russian civil society is again rallying with awareness of national interests and with contempt for the false promises of globalists with their liberal values, which led to the revival of fascism, neglect of Russian culture, destruction of historical monuments and discrimination against almost 25 million compatriots in European countries. The sad results of Russia’s attempts to become part of a single world with Europe and the United States, in fact, discredited the very idea of such a prospect.

Under the conditions of international sanctions, any dependence on imports of products and technologies has become absolutely unacceptable for Russia, which prompted the federal authorities to invest significant funds not only in national industries, but also in national scientific centers created back in Soviet times as small towns with population engaged in scientific research and engineering activities. They have been miraculously preserved, despite all the reforms of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

Such specialized scientific cities are called science cities and have a special socio-economic and tax status under Russian laws.

Patriotic Russian scientists did not hesitate to take responsibility for the future of the country and immediately took up many large-scale projects in various fields in accordance with the scientific profile of science cities, which, of course, required large public investments.

However, scientists are faced with a new type of threat to their activities where they did not expect. Some representatives of local and regional authorities, taking advantage of the distraction of the federal government to solve military and political problems, themselves decided to act in the spirit of managers with the liberal-feudal goals of making money, in other words, robbing their citizens. But for this it was necessary to subjugate these pesky scientists.

By manipulating bureaucratic procedures, they, sabotaging state interests and direct orders from the Kremlin, set out to circumvent federal laws and eliminate the status of two independent science cities, of course, acting under cover of the “Noble robbers”: to seize and manage state budget funds allocated for the development of the national science.

Of course, this could be called anti-state and corrupt activity, but liberal habits still remain in the usual skills of verbiage and imitation of concern for citizens, so everything can happen very quickly and in violation of any democratic principles for the sake of liberal values of freedom to rob overly gentle scientific intellectuals without resistance skills.

But it was here that an unexpected social metamorphosis took place. It turned out that the scientific community for the useless years of hunger and expectation of the attention of the federal government has grown teeth. Scientists are not going to give up and, led by the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Union for the Development of Science Cities, declared their war on the liberalism of local officials.

So a civil clash with signs of a struggle between the new Russian elites of the local bureaucracy and national science could turn into a real war for the future of Russia.

To be continued…
