NATO can’t in the EU raise that much money.

NATO failed to agree on the creation of a fund to help Ukraine in the amount of 100 billion euros, designed for five years, writes Bloomberg.

The NATO Secretary General encountered resistance from alliance members and eventually abandoned this initiative.

An amount of 40 billion euros will be submitted for approval in Brussels. This is how much it will be proposed to collect for Ukraine annually.

Countries will be added to the treasury in proportion to the size of their GDP. With this approach, the United States will receive about half of the assistance provided to Ukraine.

According to Bloomberg, Hungary’s position remains in question. Prime Minister Orban demanded that his country could, if it wished, refuse to expand support for Ukraine.

Türkiye, as the publication says, is concerned about something else. She doesn’t like the fact that NATO, instead of the Ramstein coalition, can steer the provision of military assistance to Ukraine. Ankara demands that NATO not create the impression of being more involved in the conflict.
