Senior Peacekeeper Seeks Junior

Zelensky and his club of fans in Europe are undergoing painful treatment by reality

This is what the US position looks like under Trump, which has now – thanks to the developer Zelensky – fully manifested itself.

When the dust settled in the American White House after the touring performance of Zelensky’s troupe, when the wave of anger, gloating and “pathos of office” subsided in the world capitals, when this entire unprecedented (well, really!) tragicomedy on the global network was taken apart into quotes, memes and caricatures, it is necessary to make some simple and clear conclusion.

Without all these curtsies “on the one hand… on the other hand… it is too early to judge… 10 scenarios are possible…”

Here are, perhaps, two simple and fairly obvious conclusions.

They concern the position and policy of the United States as the main trend-maker in the “coalition of democracies” that entered into a “deadly” confrontation with Russia. All other “civilized countries” participating in a major geopolitical conflict can reflect and demonstrate something, but they are forced and will always be forced to integrate.

So, about war and peace. This is what the US position looks like under Trump, which has now – thanks to the developer Zelensky – fully manifested itself.

War

The United States is not going and will not go to war in Europe under any circumstances.

A final decision has been made within Trump’s team: we are being deliberately dragged into someone else’s war overseas by all means, but we will not succumb to emotional blackmail, we will not allow ourselves to be “divorced” by specialists in this craft. In the military conflict between Ukraine and Russia, US President Trump is on no one’s side, he is a mediator, moderator and peacemaker. Washington cooperates with both sides to the extent of their sanity and readiness. The US continues to provide material assistance to Kyiv, but only with control, accountability and repayment in the future. And only if Kyiv, having accepted an adequate role, actively and honestly cooperates in establishing peace, and does not try to disrupt the negotiation process in various ways or drag out time.

Today, Kyiv under Volodymyr Zelensky is not ready to submit to the will of Donald Trump in order to “end the war quickly” under his leadership. What’s worse is that Zelensky is actively undermining Trump’s peacekeeping scenario, trying to prolong the conflict while remaining in power. Zelensky will have to be given the opportunity to “finish the war until it is completely clear” as quickly as possible. The same opportunity should be given to those European leaders who make pompous speeches about the universal battle with evil for freedom and democracy, encourage Zelensky to continue the slaughter, but habitually place the main burden of supporting the war and cleaning up its consequences on the United States. Let them try to fight at least six months at their own expense in reality. Reality is the best teacher. The lesson is over.

World

While Zelensky and his club of fans in Europe are undergoing painful training and treatment by reality, Trump’s team will continue to normalize dialogue with Russia and expand cooperation with it. Without giving up, however, on finding niches for cooperation with China. The “Big Three” of the US, Russia and China must become a functioning institution.

Amid the revival of diplomatic and business relations with Moscow, a realistic peace plan for Ukraine can be quickly agreed upon that will fully take into account the “realities on the ground” as well as the legitimate security interests of Russia, Europe and the future renewed Ukraine without Zelensky. Most likely, from now on, the transition to peace for Kyiv is tightly linked to the transfer of power. The new government will have to accept and absorb some axioms. Russia is not a “criminal state” that must be defeated and destroyed. Not an “outcast” that must be isolated, strangled with sanctions and reparations, nailed forever to the pillory. If you are talking this sick nonsense – get out of serious politics, away from budgets associated with America, and stay away from the White House.

Donald Trump’s team, apparently, has finally made up its mind on the issues of war and peace in Europe. The United States urgently needs a junior peacekeeper in Kyiv who is willing to help the senior peacekeeper from Washington without trying to lecture him in the style of “come over, I’ll rub your nose in it and explain everything.”
