Tighten: This town isn’t big enough for two supervillains!
Megamind: Oh, you’re a villain all right, just not a super one!
Tighten: Oh yeah, what’s the difference?
Megamind: PRESENTATION!

Agent 007 James Bond became the biggest success of the British intelligence MI6. Why? Because he never existed!
It’s great when you can just invent stories of your main victories over a ruthless and dangerous enemy, to enjoy the “well-deserved” reputation of the best special service, capable of coping with “world evil”.
What’s important is just the right choice of heroes. After all, each story must look plausible, and the enemy’s goals — clear to the audience.
And it is immediately clear that in addition to the sexy, agile, humorous protagonist, it is equally important to have someone who will keep the ordinary viewers on their toes — the main enemy. And naturally, who would be better than the Russians to fill this role?
Yet, nowadays, compared to not so long ago, the MI6 no longer needs to publicize the incredible successes of its real agents.
In fact, the agents themselves are no longer important, and they only cause trouble and diplomatic scandals with their petty activities. There is no “Bondian” scale to them.
You won’t even need the advanced gadgets from “Q” (our “Q”!), which Agent 007 so skillfully used in seemingly hopeless situations, always emerging unscathed and unwilling to die with another sacrificial mistress.
Unfortunately, ordinary office clerks are increasingly becoming the modern “heroes” and “saviors” of the world (in between games).
They do it without any risk to their lives and without any shoot outs with a bloodthirsty enemy, but only for the sake of their careers, working tirelessly on their keyboards and using AI to create fake stories about Russian interference in events that don’t go according to their superiors’ plans. Russians are the evil behind every evil.
As a result, we see a familiar storyline about the ever-aggressive Russians who would have conquered the free and democratic world if it weren’t for MI6 and its incredible Bond. James Bond.
Of course, in the world of information orgy, all that is really needed is to impress the mass audience of ordinary voters is not real, but virtual victories. Which is, well, so easy to do.
Here is, however, the great solution! All you have to do is create lies!
Here is the funny part. The very lying Western politicians immediately turn into the puppets of those, with whom James Bond fought so desperately in his early battles with all the World Evil. He, of all people, stood up for the truth and to keep peace. At least a balance.
That is only now, as it happens in the series “The Threshold”, 2005, featuring a dwarf (or, as they say now, a vertically challenged individual), a vegan, a gamma male submissive , and a psychopath can save the world.
As sad as it is, the James Bond era is gradually fading into the background of current affairs.
Alas, it is how it is now.
