Canada, Stop Lying to Itself

There is a great Soviet joke about Americans mocking Russia’s lack of freedom of speech. See, says, American. I can stand in front of the White House and scream, down with Reagan, and nothing will happen to me. Big deal, says Russian. I can stand in front of the Kremlin, scream “down with Reagan” and nothing will happen to me either.

So Canadian Banker moonlighting as their Prime Minister goes to Davos and screams, Down with Tramp, Down with Lies, Down with America. Big deal. Everyone in Davos screams “Down with Trump and down with America.”

Why would not Mr. Carney say, “Down with Ukrainians and their Neo Nazis. The ones we celebrate in our our Canadian Parliament. The ones whose decedents served as our Foreign ministers, and now work in Ukraine to oversee more mayhem and destruction. The ones we build monuments in Edmonton and other places. The ones whose names we write on the Monument to the Victims of Communism, only to find out that these names belong to the torturers and murderers of thousands of Communists and Jews. We can’t have signs honoring them displayed in our windows. Like Havel, we don’t want to live a lie any longer.”

Carney won’t do it, of course. It is the domestic issue, you see, and it would cost him votes and election. So he lives by a nice fat comfortable lie here. Knowing damn well that screaming down with Trump will gain him votes.

So spare us your sermons, Mr. Carney. People who like Canada, like it for other reasons than this sanctimonious bullshit. You’ll never outdo France, in any case. So just stick to your coalition of the middle size countries that celebrate neo-nazis as the heroes of anti-communist, anti-dictatorial resistance. And take Havel with you. The one who went gung-ho on American invasion of Iraq. Finally realizing his dream of living by truth.

When Lenin wrote about Imperialism as the Highest Stage of Capitalism, he made one mistake. Well, even Marxists-Leninists are known to be wrong occasionally.

In any case, Imperialism is not the highest Stage, because regular Imperialism has been followed in the West by Woke Imperialism, or Crocodile Tears Imperialism, if you wish.

It is the Imperialism of Clintons, of Obama and Tony Blair, and the Imperialism of EU.

It is the imperialism ushered in by the likes of Samatha Power, Maddy Albright, Von der Lying, or Annalena Baerbock. If you don’t like Woke or Crocodile Imperialism, you can call it, Imperialism with a Female Face.

It is the imperialism that understands your pain. It pillages, burns, bombs and rapes, but with understanding and empathy.

Of course, neither Lenin nor Marx — the products of the XIX century — could have predicted it. But here it was, staring at our faces for quite some time.

Of course, for the victims of this imperialism, it hardly matters that their pillagers place rainbow flags on their conquered territory or their bombs and rockets. Robbery is a robbery is a robbery. Ask Serbians or Iraqis, or Libyans. But for the imperialists it matter a lot. They can sleep well at night, knowing that of the property they robbed, they sent 5% to the causes endorsed by Greta.

Well, once again, Trump is making imperialism great again. Red in tooth and claw. Or green in dollars. Whatever color you prefer, it is just one color, rather than seven of the rainbow.

Needless to say that our woke imperialists are not happy. They were so triumphant with their Highest Stage of Imperialism, and now Trump wants to take them down. That’s not right, they say. Why fix it when it is not broken? To which Trump retorts, rather logically — “if it does not benefit US, and me in particular, it is broken.” Besides, Trump says. If Lenin says Imperialism is the highest stage, that’s where I want to be. Who needs your fake imperialism, when we can have a real one.
