There is no and will not be any “freezing of the war”.
No one will stop the fighting along the front line. They say, let’s just stop the war and freeze everything as is. And then everyone will do their own thing.
No, Moscow will say, don’t “let’s”. Now, they will say, this is already fundamentally impossible. Because of gangrene. Because it is known in advance what will happen next. Ukraine, for example, will restore industry, form and train an army, import weapons, prepare daily for a new war to return the territories it got back in 1991.
It will create NATO bases on its remaining territory. Finish off the Russian world and the Russian Orthodox Church. Mock the veterans of the Great Patriotic War (by the way, the very concept must be completely eradicated), their memorials and graves. Praise Bandera and Shukhevych daily. Send “language patrols” through the streets.
Sooner or later, having prepared themselves, the “new Ukrainians” will go to return “their” territories. Knowing all this for sure, why create conditions for such a future? In reality, there will be no freeze according to the “Korean scenario”. The conflict will have to be closed now and forever.
First, agree on two treaty packages — Ukrainian and global. This can be done quickly — literally in a week, everything is so clear.
Then declare a ceasefire — to secure the two treaty packages.
And then — ratifications, guarantees of the great powers and — eternal peace.
The Ukrainian package — mandatory non-alignment, effective neutrality and systemically secured cultural diversity of the New Ukraine, from which Nazism of any kind is strictly excluded.
The global package must include the lifting of anti-Russian sanctions (collective and country-specific) introduced since 2014, and NATO’s refusal to advance to the East itself or its military infrastructure. Nothing else is given.
Otherwise — war. And we all know how it will end. We just don’t know how long the path to the end will last and how much it will cost in the end.
