Russophobia as a "Sacred Mission" of the Nazis

How woke liberals learned to love Nazi collaborators and murderers.

One the surface of it, it all looks strange if not shocking. The most progressive of the Americans and consequently of the western world, providing moral and financial support to the ultra-nationalist thugs who idolize mass murderers of the Bandera type.

They don’t idolize Dr. Mengele, Himmler or Goebbels. Why then embrace themselves in the Ukrainian flags, dismiss few sane voices who described the situation in Ukraine from within, and glorify the regime that burns people, bullies them into silence, cancels people’s culture and language, abuses local minorities, hunts down its own citizens, and does other numerous things that are a total taboo for a self-respecting woke individual?

Well, the word “cancel” is the key here. With the help of a few savvy Ukrainian propagandists who graduated from American Universities and therefore learned to speak “woke” language, the brutal, nasty, and violent regime had been turned into a victim. Into a fighter against Russian Imperialism.

As American academy and its pathetic epigones in high schools, government offices, and mass media, spent most of their energy on fighting colonialism, racism, imperialism, sexism, and other nasty phobias, it took Ukrainian propagandists just a few tiny demagogic efforts, and lo and behold, Ukrainian people became African Americans, native Americans, Palestinians and all other national, religious or sexual minorities all in one. Subject to the cruel and relentless abuse in the hands of Russians.

As American education began to cancel, ban, dismiss and ridicule everything related to the “white” rule, so did Ukrainians, banning, destroying, and silencing everything related to Russia.

These were kindred souls, all right. United by anger, zealotry, naivete, and other good intentions leading to hell.

American academia is engaged in “de-colonization” and so are Ukrainians. Americans want to liberate their scholarship from baneful impact of “Western imperialism” and do Ukrainians, liberating themselves from everything Russian. Consequently, fake histories, fake narratives, fake heroes began to dominate.

Of course, there is enough of a tradition of healthy decent in the United States, so wokism gets questioned and challenged occasionally. But nothing of the sort is in Ukraine. Once wokism married Russophobia and state power, there was no stopping to it. To the great joy and envy of American liberals, who clearly admire the ease and panache with which Ukrainians destroy their own culture.

Idiots and fanatics like Tim Snyder (and his Jewish wife, who was also a professor at Yale) got so unhappy with American system of dissent, that they decided to leave Yale and go to some boondocks place in provincial Canada, where they hopes to finally merge American wokism with Ukrainian neo-nazism into one beautiful whole, realizing Bandera dream once and for all. And I am sure that Canadian government, which views the goal of fomenting Ukrainian nationalism, as its most sacred mission, will do its best to facilitate the process.

And that’s how it continues to the present day. Torch marches of the Ukrainian nationalists celebrating their notorious mass murderer, occasional and perfunctory protests of Poles and Israelis, who still remember what Bandera and his henchmen did to their people, and roaring silence from American liberals, whose fear of being cancelled by the woke commissars is obviously stronger than any remains of human decency or common sense.
