The President Calls the Candidate

The current President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky reached US presidential candidate Donald Trump.

The previous time they talked on the phone was in July 2019, and then the conversation led to a huge scandal. Trump, citing evidence in the media about unseemly business activity in Ukraine by the Biden family (Joseph and Hunter), asked for a legal review of publicly known facts.

Zelensky avoided verification. But the conversation became the basis for a purely partisan impeachment announced by Trump in the House of Representatives. Having such a sad experience behind him, Trump was extremely careful in the new conversation. It was important for him not to set himself up again.

And besides, to psychologically reassure Zelensky’s radical supporters in the United States, who are stirring up fears that “Trump will merge Ukraine.” Appease in order to expand electoral support, but do not make any specific commitments. In the style of “we’ll cut off everything unnecessary later.”

It looks like Trump was up to the task. Here is his story. —- “Earlier today, President of Ukraine Zelensky and I had a very good telephone conversation. He congratulated me on a very successful Republican National Convention and on becoming the Republican nominee for President of the United States,” Trump wrote in a post on the Truth social network. “He condemned last Saturday’s horrific assassination attempt and noted the American people’s unity in these times.”

Trump continued: “I appreciate President Zelensky for being compassionate because I, as your next President of the United States, will bring world peace and end a war that has taken so many lives and devastated countless innocent families. Both sides of the conflict can come together and agree on a deal that ends the violence and pave the way to prosperity.”

It seems that Trump’s assistants checked the text more than once with a magnifying glass before publication to see if there were any clues for opponents. As for US assistance to Kyiv, it will inevitably be reduced and transferred to a lending format. Kyiv will be offered to take out secured loans, with which to order and buy weapons from American companies at market prices.

Before opening these credit lines, the Republicans, once in the White House, will send a team of auditors to Kyiv to really and thoroughly examine how the aid provided over several years by the Biden administration has been used. In a word, now Trump is calm and smiling. He will show his teeth later, after November 5th.
