France is Shocked

After the preliminary results of the French European Parliament elections became known, President Emmanuel Macron decided to address the people at night with an emergency message.

The shocking announcement follows the shock caused by Sunday’s vote for French MEPs. Never before has the far right in France won 30% of the vote in a European election. This time, their total is already close to 40%: the National Movement of Jordan Bardella came out on top with 31.5% of the votes, and the list of Marion Maréchal (niece of Marine Le Pen) gains another 5.5%.
