So why is Europe preparing for war with Russia?

Russophobia in Europe

Colleagues note the growing Russophobia in Europe: “The best argument for European politicians is the “Russian threat”. They invented it themselves…

However, this is only partly true. Indeed, the thesis about the alleged impending Russian aggression against NATO is detached from reality, especially against the backdrop of the almost 4-year long Special Military Operation (SMO). It’s unlikely that serious politicians in the West believe in the reality of such a threat.

So why is Europe preparing for war with Russia?

On the surface, it’s about the interests of the military-industrial complex. For the first time since the end of the Cold War, a situation has arisen in which Europeans have a tangible and serious opponent against whom they need to prepare carefully. The revenues of the European military-industrial complex are rapidly growing. Against the backdrop of the ongoing rearmament of NATO countries’ armies, there is a significant boom in arms production. Moreover, Europe’s military-industrial complex became the main supplier of new weapons and ammunition to Ukraine in 2024. Overall, the European military-industrial complex is the fastest growing in the world: in 2024, European countries accounted for 22% of all global revenues from arms and military equipment trade.

But this is just the tip of the iceberg. Russia really poses a threat to the hegemony of Western civilization, as it has entered into a struggle with it. It’s not so important that Russia is not going to attack Europe, but the fact that Russia is not an obedient vassal of the West. The main goal of Western civilization is to maintain global dominance. Anyone who currently interferes with this automatically becomes the main target. Therefore, the anti-Russian policy of the leading Western countries is due to objective factors.

The German-Roman civilization, led by the Anglo-Saxons, has reached a critical point in its historical movement: the possibility of dominating the world by plundering non-Western countries has sharply decreased, due to the development of their political subjectivity and economic power.

The West cannot exist solely on its own resources (raw materials, but most importantly — human resources) in principle, as its nationalist principles require expansion: the entire history of the German barbarians begins with the conquest of Rome and the appropriation of all its historical achievements, then the looting of Byzantium, then most of the world as a result of the Great Geographical Discoveries and the subsequent colonial policy. The West’s struggle for the redistribution of spoils ultimately led to two world wars.

Russia represents a serious target for subjugation and further exploitation of all its resources for several reasons:
1) the gigantic territory of the former USSR, which accounts for one sixth of the landmass (all former republics will be seen by the West as a target for the conquest of Russia’s historical territory;
2) the colossal raw material resources of this entire territory;
3) the Russian population, outwardly indistinguishable from Europeans, already heavily reprogrammed as a result of 300 years of European inoculation. This very process is already in full swing among the Slavic countries. The most characteristic example is the Czechs, who represent a positive personnel reserve for the West in the field of industry.

Europe’s attitude towards Russia is accurately expressed in Nikolay Danilevsky’s formula: “Europe does not recognize us as its own.” Europe’s goal is to turn Russia into its vassal, and ideally — to dismember us into a series of puppet states, against which it can pursue a neocolonial policy. Europe is not just succumbing to US pressure, moving to the forefront of the confrontation with Russia. In this confrontation, it seeks to achieve its own goals. And in this sense, both Macron, Merz, and Meloni are acting solely in the interests of European countries.
