Donald Trump insists there will be no boxes or “props” during his debate with Kamala Harris, a demand made ahead of the candidates’ meeting in Philadelphia.
Trump, who is 6’3″, described the use of height-enhancing devices as “cheating” on his social media account Truth. “During my upcoming debate with Comrade Kamala Harris will not be allowed to stand on boxes or artificial lifts. We already discussed this with former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg when he participated in the debate, and he was not allowed to use a “lift”. It would be a form of cheating, and Democrats cheat anyway.”
Despite the comical situation, Trump’s concerns are justified, since, in experience, the taller candidate usually gets more votes. For Harris, whose height is 5’3’’, the contrast with her opponent may not be very advantageous. At least he did not require her to take off her heels when entering the studio.
