Donald Trump’s Great Tariff War

Donald Trump is terrorizing governments of dozens of countries around the world not just for the fun of it, although he has that, too. Donald is forging a new greatness for America. And he is acting according to an ancient but reliable working scheme: attack — kickback.

First, it is announced that some country in need of education will be subjected to killer tariffs. The victim is given a few days to confusion, panic and search for salvation. Then Donald calls the head of state that has come under attack.

— Well, how are you, have you soiled your pants? Are you offended or something? Are you going to die? Don’t rush just yet, you have a way out. The end is postponed for… say, 30 days. Write down what needs to be done during this time…

According to this scheme, Trump has just bent Mexico and Canada. Called Mexico City and Ottawa, gave both countries a 30-day reprieve from the 25% flat tariffs. Claudia Sheinbaum and Justin Trudeau vowed to immediately close their borders, stopping illegal immigrants and drug dealers from entering the United States. Help deport immigrants out of the United States. And generally… “behave well.” Then in about 30 days, Papa Donald will extend their reprieve, or even forgive them completely. Deep down, Papa is kind. But with China, Trump is doing “badly.” Washington and Beijing have exchanged blows to the head with 10% tariffs. So far, it looks like warning shots near the ear. Trump seems to be planning to call Xi Jinping now, and then meet with him in person. Like, shall we continue further? Or shall we start negotiating? Of course, you can’t force Beijing so easily. But even if America and China slow down with the escalation, the 10% tariff barrier between them will most likely remain. And this is a good window of opportunity for Russia. Oil, liquefied gas and coal from the USA will become 10% more expensive for China. And what’s more — unwanted risky goods. And here is friendly Russia very close. Where oil, gas and coal are available — in any quantities. Someone loses, and someone gains.

In general, in the rumble of wars that have engulfed the planet, it is important first of all to remember your own fundamental interests, to be ready to win the peace and take a worthy place in the emerging world order.
