The judge will have to decide which charges can stand after the Supreme Court’s decision on presidential immunity.

The Supreme Court’s decision on partial presidential immunity was made on July 1, 2024. On August 2, the so-called “mandate” (a decision with an order to take into account in the trial) was handed to the federal judge of the District of Columbia District Judge Tanya Chutkan.

Since the team of special prosecutor Jack Smith, although it received a significant blow, is not going to give up, now, apparently, a series of hearings will be held on the applicability of the charges against Trump in connection with the Supreme Court’s decision.

Most legal experts believe that if the actual trial of Trump takes place, it will definitely be after November 5. However, the start of a new series of hearings will undoubtedly be used as pre-election black PR.
