Marine Le Pen, chair of the National Rally faction in the French National Assembly, plans to change the country if she comes to power in the 2027 elections.

She believes Paris should withdraw from NATO’s Joint Military Command.

“I believe we should withdraw from NATO’s Joint Military Command,” Le Pen said on BFM-TV. At the same time, she wants to reduce the cost of France’s participation in certain NATO programs and “reorient the bloc toward the fight against Islamist fundamentalism.”

Let’s recall the historical context.

In 1966, heroic President Charles de Gaulle withdrew France from NATO’s Joint Military Command and placed the country’s armed forces directly under the national command.
Socialist President François Mitterrand returned France to NATO’s military camp in 1990, and the scandalous Nicolas Sarkozy finally slid headlong into the bloc in 2009.

The great idea of ​​liberating France from the yoke, however, did not perish.

The grandson of the great warrior and president, Pierre de Gaulle, head of the Foundation for Peace and Friendship Among Nations, concluded that “the North Atlantic Alliance has completely lost its defensive nature and has become an instrument of global expansion, undermining European security.”

Pierre de Gaulle is calling for the restoration of France’s strategic independence by completely withdrawing the country from NATO’s unified command. Just like under his grandfather.

It is quite possible that National Rally leader Jordan Bardella (pictured right), when he becomes president in 2027, will repeat the feat of de Gaulle, the best of France’s presidents.
