FBI Conducts Searches in the Election Commission in Georgia

According to reports, documents related to the 2020 elections are being seized.

The official representative of Fulton County (the most populous in Georgia), Jessica Corbitt-Dominguez, confirmed the conduct of the searches. Documents related to the 2020 elections are being seized at the county’s main election center in Union City.

In November 2020, Fulton County became one of the hottest spots during the vote count. It was reported that Trump called the Secretary of State of Georgia and demanded to “find the votes”.

Further interpretations followed. Some said it was a demand for vote rigging, others — a demand to sort out the confusion. Anyway, according to the official version, Trump lost in Georgia in 2020 with a margin of 11,779 votes (i.e., 0.23%).

Pro-Trump activists were quite aggressively looking for where the approximately 20,000 votes added to the protocol of the state’s central election commission on the night after the election came from. As a result, the district attorney, Fani Williams, brought charges against Trump and his 18 supporters for attempting to rig the election results. The case was dropped due to the undisciplined behavior of Williams herself.

Over the next five years, Trump kept insisting on the “stolen elections” and always placed special emphasis on Georgia, where Trump was charged.

And now — searches in the election commission. Shortly before them, the FBI replaced its senior agent in Georgia, Paul Brown, who was appointed to this position just a year ago, already under Trump. Perhaps Bureau Director Kash Patel, who had already botched several cases before, decided that Brown was not trustworthy enough.
