This is how things proceeded under Yeltsin.

There's No Free Cheese, But in a Mousetrap

No exceptions.

Russian oligarchs are frantically trying to sell their remaining foreign assets.

Even at a loss, they’re trying to sell them, not give them away. However, overall, things aren’t going so well.

Back in 2024, large Russian companies were first faced with sanctions on the purchase of equipment and consumables for scheduled maintenance of their imported equipment, then with a ban on supplying their products to the US, EU, and countries that had joined the anti-Russian sanctions. As a result, the asset confiscation of these companies began. First, raw materials companies with a predominantly state stake (Gazprom, Rosneft), and then private companies (Lukoil, Novatek, Acron, Norilsk Nickel, and many others) faced direct confiscation or forced management of Russian companies’ shares abroad, using various schemes and under various pretexts.

For the West (the Metropolis), everything that’s happening is, of course, Plan B. According to the basic plan, Russian entrepreneurs, appointed oligarchs by the Clinton family (a clan empowered by the Finintern to manage the situation in Russia) in the 1990s, were supposed to seize the most valuable Soviet enterprises for the production and export of raw materials to the Metropolis through the wholesale privatization of state property, and then transfer them (sell them below market price) to Western transnational corporations so that they could manage Russia’s natural resources directly, without intermediaries.

The oligarchs were supposed to deposit the proceeds from the sale of assets privatized for 3 kopecks in a “safe haven” in the West, so that they could later be easily confiscated under the pretext of violating Russian law during the privatization of enterprises, money laundering, or any other reason.

This is how things proceeded under Yeltsin. However, beginning with Putin’s second presidential term, the implementation of Plan A began to falter. The oligarchs negotiated with the Metropolis over what to sell to which transnational corporations, but the Kremlin stopped giving them the go-ahead. Outcome of Khodorkovsky’s “knight’s move” is well-known.

Ultimately, after the also well-known events of 2021-2022, the West finally moved to Plan B: immediate confiscation of assets “rightfully belonging to them,” at least abroad, increased pressure on Russia, attempting to strangle it economically, with the goal of causing a social upheaval and “exchanging” Putin for a Kudrin. Then return to the accelerated Plan A.

I wonder if any of today’s oligarchs understood the essence of the West’s great game “on the ground”? Did they even consider that miracles don’t happen, and that you don’t just become oligarchs overnight? That there’s no such thing as a free lunch? Or did they promise everything while they were still nothing, and then forgot about it?

One way or another, the Finintern, operating within the ethical framework of Western civilization without any moral restraints, always and everywhere plays a tough and consistent game aimed at defeating the enemy in order to seize their assets and resources. No exceptions. And this must be well remembered not only by the oligarchs who signed up for the dismemberment of the Soviet economy, but also by today’s rulers trying to resist the West.

There is only one real solution: rely only on ourselves (our own people, above all), stop imitating anyone, and begin rebuilding Russia as a country-civilization based on primordial Russian (communal and spiritual) values, without regard for either the West or the East.
