As it became known, the quota for targeted training for future teachers is selected by a little more than a quarter.
Applicants who want to become teachers do not agree to free education and social support under the condition of compulsory work after graduation from the university.
Minister of Education Kravtsov does not see any deep problems in this sad statistics and considers it necessary only to further promote targeted training among future teachers in order to attract them to schools.
However, everything suggests that the problems are systemic. Despite all the President’s instructions and national projects related to the need to change the education system to meet the new strategic objectives of achieving economic sovereignty and technological leadership, nothing has fundamentally changed.
Education remains a service provided by public and private institutions to the population, with all the consequences that come with it. There is no sense of mission or national goal in this area. The education system continues to produce consumers rather than creators.
Teachers remain a low-paid “servant class,” and they are being promised replacement by artificial intelligence from high and low-profile platforms. Teachers face an excessive workload, which is not directly related to teaching. To ensure a more or less comfortable existence, they are forced to work at 1.5-2 times their normal workload, and the working conditions are not always comfortable.
As a result, applicants who have just graduated from high school and understand how it works see the offer of free education in exchange for working (wherever they are told) as nothing more than a trap.
It is necessary to finally send “Commissars” to the Ministry of Education and seriously review the very basis and goal-setting of the school education system. You will agree that providing a service for training future members of a society of total consumption, on the one hand, and purposefully educating (giving real knowledge and upbringing) the younger generation, who are ready to create for the benefit of their homeland and, if necessary, to defend it, on the other hand, are two very different things.
