One Ordinary-Extraordinary Journey

Finding your place in the world might be not easy. And the life of a small acorn from the animated short “Acorn” is a good confirmation of this.

When it was the right time he fell from his oak-tree and goes on an adventure chasing his dream. Sounds familiar? We, people, do exactly the same: at a certain moment we all leave our safe homes, parents and start writing the histories of our own lives.

From the moment the little acorn comes to the big world he knows exactly what he is meant to be. He is dreaming of becoming a beautiful mighty tree. But for that purpose he needs to step out of the shades of his father-tree. So our little and slightly silly acorn runs away from the world that he is used to and sets on a journey in order to find his own place in the world where his dream will come true.

None of his brothers-acorns could imagine that any of them would swim in a river or turns out in a mole hole. But our acorn is not one of them. His journey is filled with such kind of extraordinary evens. He dares to conquer the world and explores so many things beyond his imagination.

Of course his journey was not a lovely walk in the woods, it was dangerous and frightening. The little acorn was all alone in the big world facing a lot of difficulties. But he never gave up and managed to succeed in the end despite of being alone, scared and tired. It was when he literally ended up on the very bottom he found his place from which he will grow only to the top, becoming the one he has always dreamt to be.

This little story of the acorn adventures does not really resemble a fairytale after all. A life of every human doesn’t differ much from it. Chasing our dreams we as well meet evil creatures, face insuperable obstacles, feel weak and desperate, but still try to reach the initial goal.

Probably that is the thing the defines us from others — the path we made while searching for our place in this world. Only we decide what to do with our lives and sometimes it means leaving the comfort zone and diving in the big scary world with all the excitement and will we have, because the prize for such courage is always the finest.
